Celebrate!

I love to color with my Copics.  My entire life is an expanse of coloring with markers.  Seriously, it is weird.  But, I think you can guess that by this post.  :)  In college, I would sit in chapel and color for all the teacher ed majors.  They loved it, but I secretly loved it more.  So, now I am all grown up and found a more sophisticated (at least that is what I am telling myself) art form - Copics!  I wish there was a cure, but unfortunately I haven't found it yet.  (or fortunately)

Today is a fun, quick card I made.  Thanks for looking!

Stamps: Year of Flowers: Dafodills (PTI)
Paper: Vintage Cream (PTI)

Argyle Inspiration

The very first Papertrey Chicks challenge is up.  I am going to have a crazy schedule the next couple of weeks and wanted to get in on the action quickly.  So, without further ado . . . here is my "Argyle Inspiration" card.

So, I don't really have anything argyle AND I didn't order the argyle stamp from PTI's release (shame on me).  In fairness, I went back yesterday to get it and it was sold out.  So, I created a digital file with an argyle pattern and colored away with my copics.  I love to color, but it is not for the faint at heart.

Thanks for looking!!

Stamps:  Beautiful Blooms 2, Fillable Frames #1 (PTI)
Paper: Mine - yes I did all the coloring
Other: Beautiful Blooms Dies (PTI), Black Felt (PTI), Lemon Tart Ribbon (PTI), Black Ink (Staz-On), Black Button (PTI), Tissue Paper (PTI)

My Favorite Little Stamp Set

I thought I would share a small little addiction I have.  It is for a particular stamp set. Actually it is a stamp and die set.  It is Fillable Frames #1 from Papertrey Ink.  I find myself reaching for it on almost every single card.  I have to literally tell myself NO.  I have to on purpose not reach for it.  I think it is so fun, classic, clean, and whimsical all at the same time - not to mention that I adore polka dots.  I just thought I would share something near and dear to me (well, in the inky world at least).

Today's card uses up some more of my stash.  I have determined to use through all of my older supplies.  I keep buying more and more only to have more and more.  I cannot tell you the dollar amount of the supplies I have just given away because at the time I loved it, refused to use it, and now think it is looking stale.  So, this is a continuation of Use It or Lose It.

Stamps: Fillable Frames #1, Through the Trees (PTI)
Ink: Orange Zest, Dark Chocolate (PTI)
Paper: Basic Grey

What a simple, yet elegant card!  Well, to me anyway!!  Thanks for looking!  I totally enjoy reading all the comments and such sweet feedback.

Happy Mother's Day Challenge

This card is for the Happily Ever Crafter blog.  This challenge was "A Mother of a Challenge" where we had to make a Mother's Day Card without florals, pinks, purples, or mauves.  I scratched my head and then this immediately popped in my head.  The embossing was so messy.  I tried 3 different times and that embossing powder clung hard to the pure poppy card stock.  Thanks for looking!

Stamps:  Happy Mother's Day (SillyLeAnn 2.0)
Ink: Dark Chocolate, Pure Poppy, Hawaiian Shores, Vintage Cream (PTI)
Paper: Kraft, Pure Poppy (PTI)
Other: Hawaiian Shores Ribbon (PTI), Vintage Cream Felt (PTI), Scallop Border Die (PTI), White Fillagree Embossing Powder

Color Book for my Papertrey Colors

I filmed this video in February.  I wasn't too impressed by the quality and kept thinking I would go back and re-film it.  Well, here it is April and I am just going to share it.  I am a tad gun shy about putting myself out there, but I really love this little tool I made and wanted to share it with all paper crafters.

Without further ado . . . my video about my color book . . .

I am going to show you some photos of my book.

I wanted to note that this could be done for any company of card stock and ink.  I just happen to exclusively use PTI.  And you could further embellish your book with ribbons, copics, etc.  I didn't show it, but I chose to do my copic colors in the very back of this book (mostly because copics are not "perfect matches" and I find that I use variants of different colors depending on the project anyway).  I didn't include ribbon either because this book is a color tool and not a inventory.

Of note, since I filmed this in February, I filled all my color holes and now have a complete color set.  :)

Two Cards, One Inspiration

This is another of my Use it Up Challenge. I have this entire sheet of glittery spring stickers. I am almost all the way through using it. YEAH! These two cards looked better in my head, but I am still enjoying the final product. I was hoping the plum purple would show through a bit better on the kraft and had to change directions when it didn't. Thanks for looking today and enjoy!

Stamps: Polka Dot Basics (PTI), Birthday Blessings (SillyLeAnn 2.0)

Paper: Kraft, Plum Pudding, Ocean Tides (PTI)

Life, Love, You

I am a huge Weeds and Wildflowers fan. When I opened my Sweet and Simple Life #3 digital kit, I was blown away. As soon as I saw this word art, I knew it had to be a card.

I have been into purple lately.  No idea why, I have never really liked purple before now.  Aren't these blues and purples dreamy?  I thought so.

Thanks for looking today!  Have a great one!

Mojo Monday #133

I complaining this morning that I lost my crafting mojo.  I have been furiously working on my DH's 10 year anniversary book (digiscrap) that I haven't had time to think about paper, scissors, glue.  I went into my craft room several times and nothing.  Nothing at all.  So, today I was reading some blogs and happened onto one who participated in the Mojo Monday.  I needed some mojo so I headed over there.  Here is the sketch . . . .

This is what I did with it . . .

I have to just put this out there.  This is by far the most stuff I have ever put on a card.  I kept layering and layering and layering.  It was fun and definitely got my creative juices flowing.  I never thought of myself as a simple designer.  But, now I am thinking maybe I lean toward the more simple side of things.  Either way, it was fun and I am super glad I tried it.

Paper: Summer Sunrise, Dark Chocolate, Raspberry Fizz, Hibiscus Burst (PTI)
Ink: Dark Chocolate, Raspberry Fizz, Fresh Snow (PTI), Nior
